Charles Manson follower nears release

Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme was a 26-year-old disciple of the cult murderer Manson when she aimed a semiautomatic .45- caliber pistol at Ford in September 1975 in Sacramento, Calif. Secret Service agents grabbed her and Ford was unhurt.

Fromme, now 60, is scheduled to be released on parole from the Federal Medical Center Carswell in Fort Worth on Aug. 16, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the court-appointed attorney who represented her at trial.

Jackson Browne defeats John McCain

Singer Jackson Browne has won his copyright battle against Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), getting an apology and an undisclosed sum of money from the 2008 presidential nominee for a pro-McCain Web video that appropriated the artist's hit song "Running On Empty."

I am just wondering if Barack Obama had of used the song if he would have gotten sued over it. To my understanding, it was the RNC of Ohio that used the song, and John McCain didn't know anything about it. They should have gotten permission, though.

Michael Steele on Obama's degree from Notre Dame

Check out this story. I watched this today on television. I felt that instead of it being about colledge students graduating, they turned it into an event all about Obama.

Several people protested while Obama was giving a speech today. Then some students stood up, and for a minute there, I thought it was going to get out of control. Security took care of the protesters, then he finished his speech without anymore interuptions.

I felt that the leaders of Notre Dame were trying to change the minds of the people to support Obama's abortion policies. They tried to use the point that he is trying to cut down on the amount of abortions by promoting and making adoptions easier.

To me, it still doesn't change the fact that the abortions are still going on. I wonder if the speeches today changed anyone's mind about Obama's policies.

Schumer promises immigration reform

Schumer's comments came on the heels of President Barack Obama saying America can't continue with a "broken" immigration system.

Obama has stated that he supports comprehensive immigration reform that includes an eventual path to citizenship for millions of foreigners illegally in the United States. During his presidential campaign, he promised to make the issue a "top priority" during his first year in office.

Last week, Obama said immigration reform is necessary because the current system is "not good for American workers. It's dangerous for Mexican would-be workers who are trying to cross a dangerous border. It is putting a strain on border communities … And it keeps those undocumented workers in the shadows, which means they can be exploited at the same time as they're depressing U.S. wages."

I need to go look at that Glenn Beck video again with the gas can when he poured water on Bill Schultz. I don't understand how Obama thinks that they are depressing U.S. wages, but I do have the thought in my head that he is definately against business. Newsmax.com

Sen. Specter Hints Jack Kemp Died of GOP Agenda

First, he sells us out in the Stimulus Vote, and now he just keeps on talking.
Sen. Arlen Specter, Pennsylvania Democrat, said part of the reason he left the Republican Party last week was disillusionment with its healthcare priorities, and suggested that had the Republicans taken a more moderate track, Jack Kemp may have won his battle with cancer.

Mr. Specter continued: "If we had pursued what President Nixon declared in 1970 as the war on cancer, we would have cured many strains. I think Jack Kemp would be alive today. And that research has saved or prolonged many lives, including mine."

Mr. Kemp passed away Saturday, after fighting with cancer. Mr. Kemp ran for the White House in 1996 with Republican presidential candidate Bob Dole.

Washington Post says that Spector's exit isn't the problem

But Specter isn't the only Republican who has given serious thought to leaving the party. On a recent trip, I met a businessman who had voted Republican in every presidential election since 1984, the year he turned 18. He started listening to conservative talk radio in the early 1990s, a decade he remembers as the time when he started making serious money as a car salesman. As the housing market boomed, he turned to selling real estate in southwest Florida, usually to recent immigrants. But about two years ago, after an expensive divorce, he lost his own house to foreclosure, and he started working several part-time jobs, including driving a livery cab. Then he wound up in a car accident. He was lucky that the medical expenses were covered under his auto insurance, because he didn't -- and still doesn't -- have health insurance. This gentleman has had a bad run. Yet he wasn't complaining. He did have the sense, however, that today's Republican Party is out of touch with people like him.

Pirates are holding an American hostage

They were off the coast of Somalia in a ship with dry goods on it. They were hijacked by pirates. As far as I know, the rest of the crew of the ship, known as the Alabama, got away.

The pirates are holding the captain a hostage on a life raft. Some American warships are on the way, but it will take a few hours for them to get there. This story is still progressing.

This is the first of our ships that they have gotten so far.

UPDATE: A warship is on the scene. Food and water have been given to the pirates and Captain of the Ship. They are sitting in a life raft that has a cover over it. They are out of gas and trying to do some negotiations for the Captain's release. Some more ships are on the way.

The Alabama was released and is on it's way to Kenyia to deliver the food that was on the ship.

Banks want to pay back TARP money, and the Obama administration won't let them

Here is an excerpt:

Think about it: If Rick Wagoner can be fired and compact cars can be mandated, why can't a bank with a vault full of TARP money be told where to lend? And since politics drives this administration, why can't special loans and terms be offered to favored constituents, favored industries, or even favored regions? Our prosperity has never been based on the political allocation of credit -- until now.

Which brings me to the Pay for Performance Act, just passed by the House. This is an outstanding example of class warfare. I'm an Englishman. We invented class warfare, and I know it when I see it. This legislation allows the administration to dictate pay for anyone working in any company that takes a dime of TARP money. This is a whip with which to thrash the unpopular bankers, a tool to advance the Obama administration's goal of controlling the financial system.

Why? Because if they pay back the money, they can't control the banks. Think about it, if they can fire the head of GM, Mr. Wagoner, then they have control over what the banks do. What are they trying to do? Make us into a dictatorship?

It would help us taxpayers out if they would let them pay the money back.

Mark R. Levin's treatise "Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto."

Dick Morris and his wife wrote an article about how sad it is that we need Mark Levin's book on Socialism. He shows how close we are to it, and how we all need to read it. Here is an excerpt from Dick Morris:

Mark Levin: Rail Against 'Soft Tyranny'

Friday, March 27, 2009 11:43 AM

By: Dick Morris & Eileen McGann

In more normal times, we would not need Mark R. Levin's treatise "Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto." We would know which side to be on and the points in his "Manifesto" would be, well, manifest.

But in this day, when a socialist sits in the White House, committed to expanding what Levin calls the "soft tyranny" of government regulation to every aspect of our economic and corporate life, we all need to read and remember what Levin writes in his new book.

Levin defines, again for us, what it means to be free and in the private sector. Why do we need this reminder? Don't we all remember from the Reagan days?

But the more you read Levin's remarkable book, the more you realize how we have all been lured into socialism, how much we have already surrendered. "Liberty and Tyranny" makes us understand who we are, where we want to go, and what the detours we must eschew along the way are.

A must read: Obama's deep bow to the Saudi King

I first saw this on Fox News. I ran across this excellent article written by Michelle Malkin. There is also a video on it.

Obama bowed lower for the Saudi King than he and Michelle did when they met the Queen of England.

Nervous Japan takes up arms against rocket launch

Here is an excerpt:

Barack Obama warned North Korea yesterday that it would face international action if it went ahead with its launch of a rocket, as Japan made nervous preparations for it to pass over its territory as early as today.

“We have made very clear to the North Koreans that their missile launch is provocative,” President Obama said after a meeting in Strasbourg with President Sarkozy of France.

“Should North Korea decide to take this action, we will work with all interested partners in the international community to take appropriate steps to let North Korea know that they cannot threaten the safety and stability of other countries with impunity.”

He added: “The response so far from the North Koreans has been not just unhelpful but has resorted to the sort of language that has led to North Korea’s international isolation in the international community for a very long time.”

Tea Parties

#RT Tea Parties #TCOT
This is a poem that I wrote a couple of weeks ago. It is called Tea Parties. Copyright 2009.

Tea Parties by Trickyvikki

We are having Tea Parties all across the land.
People are angry, they are taking up a stand.

They are bringing tea bags just to show,
they don't like the spending, the economy is slow.

"President Obama, Can you hear me?" Rick Santelli said.
We don't like your policies, and the way that we are being led.

You promised no earmarks, and now they are increased.
You are raising people's taxes which needs to be ceased.

From Sea to Shining Sea, Americans are bringing tea.
Where are the jobs, You promised there would be?

For other people's mortgages, you expect us to pay.
Then you turn around and tax us. That seems to be your way.

President Obama, can you hear me?
The spending has got to stop.
Your economic programs are proving to be a flop.

You said that you would be our President too.
It's all about the economy, and not just you.

America needs a leader,
that can reach across the divide.
Who can protect our freedoms,
without a socialistic slide.

You need to get your staff together,
and quit playing a childish game.
The attacks on Rush are stupid,
and also are so lame.

The people are scared and hurting,
and you just fly around.
You do your campaigning and need to stay on the ground.

People are losing their retirements in the markets every day.
I think you need to fix it, in the capitalistic way.

Small businesses are suffering, their taxes you should cut.
They give more jobs to people, to get us out of the rut.

President Obama, can you hear me? The tax payers say.
While you are handing out money, please pass out some our way.

Sen. Reid: Chief Justice Roberts Lied To Congress
