Good Morning Senators-Collins-Snow-Spector

Jim Geraghty is quite blunt about the consequences of Sen. Kennedy’s being absent for today’s vote, and Sen. Gregg’s return to the Senate: “Guess what, Sens. Snowe, Specter, and Collins? You are providing the decisive votes.”

And Senator Reid is worried about this. He’s trying to scare up another GOP Senator to give cover to these three - something that even his own people are admitting to be a low probability scenario. Roll Call (no link, sorry) is also reporting that he’s trying to pair Kennedy’s yes vote to a Republican’s no (this requires the approval of the Republican in question, by the way) in order to make it a 61/38 vote on a technicality. Just in case this isn’t clear by now: this is contraindicated for any Republican Senator.

Obama the next Jimmy Carter?

I noticed during his news conference the other night that he said eventually the money that we are getting from other countries goes so far. Then they say that the party is over. He said that the party is over. I took that to mean that China or any other country is not going to loan our government any money. That means they will have to print it, which will hurt our dollar in the long run, and cause major inflation in our economy.

Newt Ginrich is right, Obama is more like Jimmy Carter than Ronald Reagan. Click here.

The Census-it is more important than you think #TCOT

Fox News is the only news organization reporting this story. I am glad that we have a GOP lawmaker that is doing their job. I never realized how important the census was until this story came out. Click here.

A Republican lawmaker is calling for an investigation of President Obama's plan to move the U.S. census into the White House.

Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, is sending a letter to committee leaders requesting a hearing.

"I'm deeply concerned" about "the White House controlling the day-to-day operations of the Census Bureau," Blackburn told FOXNews.com.

Hypocrites on paying taxes

I read an article not long ago about how when the left is in power, they feel that this is their country. They can see one of our planes overhead, and they say, "this is our plane". When the Dems are in power, they suddenly become patriotic.

Think about this for a second. If that is the case, then they don't feel that this is their country, and therefore, they don't have to pay their taxes when the Republicans are in charge? Is that the reason the Dems, and so many of them here lately, are having trouble with taxes?

I just think that they wanted to see President Bush fail. [snark] They didn't agree with his policies so they cheated on their taxes. Well, anyway, this is a good article from the national review with lots of good points.

Vetting nominees proves a vexing political problem

Now comes the Obama administration with the latest claim that it would have the most ethical administration yet. It put together a 63-point questionnaire for its top jobs that at first was criticized for being too intrusive.

Despite that, the White House ended up promoting two men with tax stains on their records. First, it came to light that the eventual Treasury secretary, Timothy Geithner, needed to pay $43,000 in back taxes and penalties. That came from unmet payroll taxes while he was working for the International Monetary Fund — and until pressured he was going to leave unpaid some of that money because the statute of limitations had expired.

They really have a point. His administration sure doesn't seem to be making us trust his administration at all. What do you think? Click here.

Holder is Confirmed as Attorney General

WASHINGTON — The Senate voted overwhelmingly Monday evening to confirm Eric H. Holder Jr. to be the new attorney general of the United States. The vote was 75 to 21, with all the votes against the nomination coming from Republicans.

I can't believe these cabinet picks. At least the Republicans are voting against these people. Click here for the article.

Obama predicts support from Republicans for the stimulus

I guess that is why he invited everyone to come to the White House to watch the game with him. It was his plan to butter everyone up. It would be something if they didn't vote for it.

Congress sued to remove Prez from White House

A new lawsuit is challenging Barack Obama's eligibility to be president, and this one targets Congress as a defendant for its "failure" to uphold the constitutional demand to make sure Obama qualified before approving the Electoral College vote that actually designated him as the occupant of the Oval Office.

GOP rallies activists against stimulus spending

More than 2,600 anti-spending activists phoned in to speak with Republican Reps. Michele Bachmann (Minn.) and Tom Price (Ga.) about their concerns over President Obama's $825 billion stimulus billl Monday evening.

Americans for Prosperity hosted the call to allow their members to connect with Bachmann and Price, two members who have repeatedly stood up for taxpayers by voting against reckless spending in Washington. AFP created the site www.nostimulus.com to draw attention to specific complaints.

Obama: Quit listening to Rush Limbaugh.......

Obama: Quit Listening to Rush Limbaugh if You Want to Get Things Done
Obama warned Republicans to quit listening to Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats, during a White House discussion on his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.
By NY Post

That wasn't Obama's only jab at Republicans today.

While discussing the stimulus package with top lawmakers in the White House's Roosevelt Room, President Obama shot down a critic with a simple message.

"I won," he said, according to aides who were briefed on the meeting. "I will trump you on that."

The response was to the objection by Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) to the president's proposal to increase benefits for low-income workers who don't owe federal income taxes.

Boehner Takes Questions from Online Community

A must read. There is a video also.

House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) today sat down with CNN's Mark Preston for a "Digg Dialogg," a question-and-answer session driven by the online community. During the discussion, Boehner talked about working with President Barack Obama on economic recovery solutions, his opposition to government regulation of the internet, the future of the Republican Party and the importance of using social media to connect citizens and government, and more.

McCain speaks out against Lynn

“I am disappointed in President Obama’s decision to waive the “revolving door” provisions of the executive order for Mr. Bill Lynn, his nominee to serve as deputy secretary of defense,” McCain said. “While I applaud the president’s action to implement new, more stringent ethical rules, I had hoped he would not find it necessary to waive them so soon.”

Karl Rove: Bush was right when it mattered most

I think that it was inexcusable for the way that President Bush was treated by people at the inauguration. "na-na-na-na-hey, hey, Goodbye". After all, he was our President, and deserved our respect for that office.

Now, the left is feeling patriotic and wants to fly the colors. They resent anyone who questions their patriotism. They are all for the country now since the Democrats are in power. It is their country now.

From the first day President Bush took office, and even now, he has had to suffer hatred from the left. The only news that reported on him in Texas was Fox News. The rest of them couldn't wait to get Obama in office, so they could get rid of President Bush.

The left needs to stop the hate. I don't know what it will take, maybe another attack? It was wrong the way that you treated our former President. He is a good man, and should have been respected.

You may later come to appreciate President Bush when Obama screws this country up beyond repair. I for one, hope that doesn't happen. When Obama closes Gitmo, and puts terrorists in prison, and the ACLU lets them out, what will you think of your Messiah then?

I am not trying to hurt anyone, I am just stating my opinion on the subject. Wake up America! Before it is too late to turn back.
