Vetting nominees proves a vexing political problem

Now comes the Obama administration with the latest claim that it would have the most ethical administration yet. It put together a 63-point questionnaire for its top jobs that at first was criticized for being too intrusive.

Despite that, the White House ended up promoting two men with tax stains on their records. First, it came to light that the eventual Treasury secretary, Timothy Geithner, needed to pay $43,000 in back taxes and penalties. That came from unmet payroll taxes while he was working for the International Monetary Fund — and until pressured he was going to leave unpaid some of that money because the statute of limitations had expired.

They really have a point. His administration sure doesn't seem to be making us trust his administration at all. What do you think? Click here.

Holder is Confirmed as Attorney General

WASHINGTON — The Senate voted overwhelmingly Monday evening to confirm Eric H. Holder Jr. to be the new attorney general of the United States. The vote was 75 to 21, with all the votes against the nomination coming from Republicans.

I can't believe these cabinet picks. At least the Republicans are voting against these people. Click here for the article.

Octuplet grandma's shame- Daughter has 14 kids

The kid-crazy California single mom who already had six children gave birth to eight more babies last week because she didn't want to destroy her leftover frozen embryos or have an abortion.

Mom of 14 Nadya Suleman's decision to become pregnant with octuplets through in-vitro fertilization exasperated her own mom, who is threatening to pack up and leave.

You can't really blame her for wanting to leave. That is a lot of kids. I bet she is just frustrated by it all.

AP warns GOP against "Risky" opposition to debt

WASHINGTON (AP) Eight days after Barack Obama took office as a "change" president, House Republicans have made a huge political gamble that could set the tone for the next election cycle. In unanimously opposing the massive spending bill that Obama says is crucial to reviving the economy, they signaled they are not cowed by his November win or his calls for a new era of bipartisanship. Obama's popularity will slacken, they say, and even if it doesn't voters will reward a party that makes principled stands for restrained spending and bigger tax cuts.

Obama predicts support from Republicans for the stimulus

I guess that is why he invited everyone to come to the White House to watch the game with him. It was his plan to butter everyone up. It would be something if they didn't vote for it.

Geithner, Bernanke Hammer Out Bailout Overhaul

The administration is working on proposals for how it will use the last $350 billion from the rescue program. Some of the measures being considered could end up costing taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars beyond the original $700 billion pricetag.

Congress sued to remove Prez from White House

A new lawsuit is challenging Barack Obama's eligibility to be president, and this one targets Congress as a defendant for its "failure" to uphold the constitutional demand to make sure Obama qualified before approving the Electoral College vote that actually designated him as the occupant of the Oval Office.

Congratulations Micheal Steele

He won the Chairman of the Republican National Committee. What do you think of the RNC pick?

I hope that he does a lot of You Tube Videos for fundraising. It will reach a lot of people, and also it will be a cheap way of advertising. Someone on Fox said that the RNC was in debt, so anything we could do will help.
