Cap and Trade Threatened by 10 Moderate Dems
WASHINGTON — Ten moderate Senate Democrats from states dependent on coal and manufacturing sent a letter to President Obama on Thursday saying they would not support any climate change bill that did not protect American industries from competition from countries that did not impose similar restraints on climate-altering gases.
The 10 senators were Evan Bayh of Indiana; Sherrod Brown of Ohio; Robert C. Byrd and John D. Rockefeller IV of West Virginia; Bob Casey and Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania; Russ Feingold of Wisconsin; Al Franken of Minnesota; and Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow of Michigan.nytimes
Health Care Town Hall turns violent
A town hall meeting to discuss President Obama's health care reform descended into shouting and reported violence in a Tampa, Florida, suburb Thursday as angry opponents attempted to sit in on the event but were turned away.
Close to 1,500 people came to Ybor City to attend the town hall-style meeting on health care and insurance reform featuring Democratic State Rep. Bette Reed and U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor before the event exploded into a near riot.

Cap and Trade and Acorn Connected?

Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme was a 26-year-old disciple of the cult murderer Manson when she aimed a semiautomatic .45- caliber pistol at Ford in September 1975 in Sacramento, Calif. Secret Service agents grabbed her and Ford was unhurt.Fox News
Fromme, now 60, is scheduled to be released on parole from the Federal Medical Center Carswell in Fort Worth on Aug. 16, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the court-appointed attorney who represented her at trial.

Conservatives have pounced on the request, accusing the White House of acting Orwellian.
"If you get an e-mail from your neighbor and it doesn't sound right, send it to the White House?"said Sen. John Barasso, R-Wyo. " People, I think all across America are going to say is this 1984? What is happening here? Is big brother watching?"
This is over the top for me. I am curious as to what they plan to do about the emails. Are they going to send the "Security Force" after us? When is the rest of the country going to wake up to what is going on?
The accusations about Astro Turf and about the town hall protests being planned out were first planted on MSNBC. I heard Rachel, and Keith start with the accusations. They are the most hateful network on television. I am sick of them making fun of southerners, christians and rightwinger republicans.
