Banks want to pay back TARP money, and the Obama administration won't let them

Here is an excerpt:

Think about it: If Rick Wagoner can be fired and compact cars can be mandated, why can't a bank with a vault full of TARP money be told where to lend? And since politics drives this administration, why can't special loans and terms be offered to favored constituents, favored industries, or even favored regions? Our prosperity has never been based on the political allocation of credit -- until now.

Which brings me to the Pay for Performance Act, just passed by the House. This is an outstanding example of class warfare. I'm an Englishman. We invented class warfare, and I know it when I see it. This legislation allows the administration to dictate pay for anyone working in any company that takes a dime of TARP money. This is a whip with which to thrash the unpopular bankers, a tool to advance the Obama administration's goal of controlling the financial system.

Why? Because if they pay back the money, they can't control the banks. Think about it, if they can fire the head of GM, Mr. Wagoner, then they have control over what the banks do. What are they trying to do? Make us into a dictatorship?

It would help us taxpayers out if they would let them pay the money back.

Mark R. Levin's treatise "Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto."

Dick Morris and his wife wrote an article about how sad it is that we need Mark Levin's book on Socialism. He shows how close we are to it, and how we all need to read it. Here is an excerpt from Dick Morris:

Mark Levin: Rail Against 'Soft Tyranny'

Friday, March 27, 2009 11:43 AM

By: Dick Morris & Eileen McGann

In more normal times, we would not need Mark R. Levin's treatise "Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto." We would know which side to be on and the points in his "Manifesto" would be, well, manifest.

But in this day, when a socialist sits in the White House, committed to expanding what Levin calls the "soft tyranny" of government regulation to every aspect of our economic and corporate life, we all need to read and remember what Levin writes in his new book.

Levin defines, again for us, what it means to be free and in the private sector. Why do we need this reminder? Don't we all remember from the Reagan days?

But the more you read Levin's remarkable book, the more you realize how we have all been lured into socialism, how much we have already surrendered. "Liberty and Tyranny" makes us understand who we are, where we want to go, and what the detours we must eschew along the way are.

MSNBC poll on Obama

MSNBC Obama Poll

Since few conservatives watch liberally-biased MSNBC, we need to send this to all our friends, so MSNBC will know what people really think of Obama. Otherwise, they will report everyone is happy – which is far from the truth.

VOTE and send it on to your friends.

MSNBC’s live poll is to grade Obama's performance as President, and we

must get conservative voices showing up in the results!

A must read: Obama's deep bow to the Saudi King

I first saw this on Fox News. I ran across this excellent article written by Michelle Malkin. There is also a video on it.

Obama bowed lower for the Saudi King than he and Michelle did when they met the Queen of England.

MSNBC and O'Reilly Controversy

Keith Olbermann, who constantly berates O'Reilly, reported that the UPS had backed out as an advertiser of Bill O'Reilly's show. UPS reported the story, and it is not true. Olbermann, the man that he is, still hasn't issued a retraction of the story as of Sunday evening.

Do you think that he will retract it? Let us see if he does. Here is the link explaining the whole story: Newsmax.com

Time we all came together......

The election for the year of 2012 will be here before
you know it. It will be
an election that will decide the next President of
the United States.

The person elected will be the
president of all Americans, not just the Democrats
or the Republicans.

To show our solidarity as
Americans, let's all get together and show each
other our support for the candidate of our choice.

It's time that we all came together, Democrats and
Republicans alike.

If you support the policies and character of the
Republican Candidate, please drive with your
headlights on during
the day.

If you support Obama or Hillary, please
drive with your headlights off at night.

This is an old email that I doctored up a little.

Nervous Japan takes up arms against rocket launch

Here is an excerpt:

Barack Obama warned North Korea yesterday that it would face international action if it went ahead with its launch of a rocket, as Japan made nervous preparations for it to pass over its territory as early as today.

“We have made very clear to the North Koreans that their missile launch is provocative,” President Obama said after a meeting in Strasbourg with President Sarkozy of France.

“Should North Korea decide to take this action, we will work with all interested partners in the international community to take appropriate steps to let North Korea know that they cannot threaten the safety and stability of other countries with impunity.”

He added: “The response so far from the North Koreans has been not just unhelpful but has resorted to the sort of language that has led to North Korea’s international isolation in the international community for a very long time.”

How would you fix the economy if you could?

I got this in an email today:

Subject: Perfect fix it plan at 1/20th the cost

This was an article from the St. Petersburg Times Newspaper on Sunday. The Business Section asked readers for ideas on " How Would You Fix the Economy?" I thought this was the BEST idea. I think this guy nailed it!

Dear Mr.President,
Patriotic retirement:
There's about 40 million people over 50 in the work force; pay them $1 million apiece severance with stipulations:

1) They leave their jobs. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.
2) They buy NEW American cars. Forty million cars ordered - Auto Industry fixed.
3) They either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - Housing Crisis fixed.

What do you think of this idea? If it were in your power to do so, what would you do to fix the economy?

I just had to post this.........

HILLARY MEETS THE KIDS:

Hillary Clinton goes to a primary school in New York to talk about
the world. After her talk she offers a question time.

One little boy puts up his hand. The Senator asks him what his name is.

"Kenneth," the boy replies.

"And what is your question, Kenneth?"

"I have three questions: "First - whatever happened to the medical
health care plan you were paid to develop during your husband's eight years
in the office as President? "Second - why would you run for President after
your husband shamed the office? "Third - whatever happened to all those
things you took when you left the White House?"

Just then the bell rings for recess. Hillary Clinton informs the kids
that they will continue after recess.

When they resume, Hillary says, "Okay, where were we? Oh, that's right,
question time. Who has a question?"

A different little boy puts his hand up. Hillary points him out and asks
him what his name is.

"Larry."

"And what is your question, Larry?"

"I have five questions: "First - whatever happened to the medical
health care plan you were paid to develop during your husband's eight years
in the office as President? "Second - why would you run for President after
your husband shamed the office? "Third - whatever happened to all those
things you took when you left the White House? "Fourth - why did the recess
bell go off 20 minutes early? "Fifth - Where's Kenneth?"

Are you a Democrat, Republican or a Redneck?

Are you a Democrat, a Republican, or a Redneck?

Here is a little test that will help you decide.

The answer can be found by posing the following question:

#You're walking down a
deserted street with your wife
and
two small children.

Suddenly, an Islamic
Terrorist with a huge knife
comes
around the corner, locks eyes with you,
screams obscenities, praises
Allah, raises the
knife, and charges at you.

You are carrying a
Kimber 1911 cal. 45 ACP, and you are an expert shot.

You have mere seconds
before he reaches you and your family. What
do
you do?

.............................................................

THINK CAREFULLY AND
THEN SCROLL DOWN:

Democrat's
Answer :

Well, that's not enough information to answer the
question!
Does
the man look poor or oppressed?
Have I ever done anything to him that
would inspire
him to attack?
Could we run away?
What does my wife
think?
What about the kids?
Could I possibly swing the gun like a club
and knock
the knife out of his hand?
What does the law say about
this situation?
Does the pistol have appropriate safety built into it?
Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind
of message
does this send to society and to my children?
Is it possible he'd be
happy with just killing me?
Does he definitely want to kill me, or would
he be
content just to wound me?
If I were to grab his knees and hold
on, could my
family get away while he was stabbing me?
Should I call
9-1-1?
Why is this street so deserted?
We need to raise taxes, have
paint and weed day and
make this happier, healthier street that
would
discourage such behavior.
This is all so confusing! I need to
debate this with
some friends for few days and try to come to a
consensus.
